The Health Care House (MDS) is an hospital agreed by the public health service by order of the Regional Council of Veneto N. 860 of February 26, 1987. The hospital gives service to 40,000 people coming from an area of 640 square kilometers and is authorized to
operate for 165 inpatient beds, of which 137 preliminary accreditated with the regional health service, divided into three
functional areas: medical, surgery and rehabilitation.
It takes part in Project Steering Committee and has its main roles in WP3 (creation of a joint CVD prevention model) and WP 4 (training and education activities). In particular, it cooperates with its own staff and external experts also, to: law analysis and prevention model definition, professional roles and skills mapping, implementation of new curricula and testing through pilot training sessions addressed to doctors (general practitioners, inhospital medical staff), nurses, social health workers, both in Italy and in Croatia. Staff (and also some external experts) from the Health Care House will give lectures to health professionals, as well as participate in other educational activities about healthy lifestyles. Training activities will include study visits/ exchange and peer education activities.
